Mary Abbott Hess LHD, MS, RDN, LDN, FAND, hosted a reception in her Chicago, Ill. home on Thursday evening, February 23, 2017 to create some grassroots awareness and raise funds for the Academy Foundation’s Second Century Campaign.

More than 25 Academy and Chicago Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members from around the area gathered in Ms. Hess’ home for the opportunity to network, enjoy some great food and refreshments and learn more about the Academy’s Second Century.

Academy President, Lucille Beseler, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE, FAND; Academy President-elect, Donna Martin, RDN, LD, SNS, EDS, FAND; and Academy Foundation Chair, Jean Ragalie-Carr, RDN, LDN, FAND, all had the opportunity to share their thoughts on what is inspiring about the Second Century and why it is so important Academy members contribute in a meaningful and significant way.

The Second Century Campaign is well underway and Academy leaders are stepping up to provide lead gifts and show their commitment to the Academy’s bold, new, innovative future. Contributions to the Second Century Campaign will be used to invest in the future of the profession through training and development, research and workforce capacity building – supporting the talent pool of credentialed practitioners locally, nationally and globally wherever they choose to practice as a key to achieving the Academy’s vision and mission.

New Vision:

A world where all people thrive through the transformative power of food and nutrition.

New Mission:

Accelerate improvements in global health and well-being through food and nutrition.

We encourage you to donate and select Second Century to make a gift on-line. As a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact on the future and donate to the Second Century!
