What motivated you to donate to the Foundation for the first time and what inspires you to continue giving?
I admit I don’t remember the first time I gave but I know that the Foundation has always been a vital part of our profession and I can’t imagine not supporting. The scholarships and research the Foundation supports are benefits for all professionals. No matter the size of the gift supporting the Foundation is an easy and important part of being an RD!
You encouraged your Facebook followers to contribute to the Foundation for your birthday – how easy was that to set up?
Facebook makes the set-up very easy, which is why I figured why not use this to boost foundation donations!
What excites you most about the future of our profession?
Our potential is Huge! Our core education prepares us for many different career opportunities. Looking at our own skills, assessing our passions and taking a chance can allow us to excel in many different career areas.
What advice would you give to students just beginning their career in nutrition and dietetics?
I have always told students and interns to enjoy what you do, keep your eyes open for opportunities and remember to support each other since networking opens many doors and makes your career more fun.
