2021 Foundation Scholarship Statistics
Sarah L. White

I am completely dependent on scholarships, part-time employment and loans to pay for school. Since I will be in the University of North Carolina Greensboro Dietetic Internship program and working on the second year of my Master’s of Science degree, I will have more time to work on developing my skills and becoming a competent practitioner. In particular, the scholarship will help to cover the cost of the Culinary Medicine elective course. I will gain knowledge that I will utilize to better relate to clients of diverse backgrounds, to equip them to take better control of their health and nutrition and to give them equitable treatment and care.

Isabel Garcia, MS

Receiving this scholarship allows me to continue pursuing my goal of representing the Latinx/Latine community in the field of dietetics. Without the 2021 Commission on Dietetic Registration Diversity Scholarship, I would be experiencing much more hardship on the way to completing this part of my career journey. Thanks to the Foundation and the CDR, I will be able to focus more on my internship without having the stress of just making ends meet.

Dayanna Fair

This scholarship will help pay for my tuition for my dietetic internship and graduate school classes. As a student that has to financially support myself, any and all funding alleviates some of the financial burden, which will allow me to be a better student and intern.

Antonio Miranda

The diversity scholarship will ensure the continuation of my pursuit for honesty health disparity research. In a world full of bias, my research aims to give voice to low income Mexican men. This scholarship will provide compensation to participants that give their time for the better of Hispanic health research.
