I am happy and honored to announce to you on behalf of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Board of Directors that Wylecia Wiggs Harris, PhD, CAE, has been hired as the Academy’s next Chief Executive Officer. She will succeed Patricia M. Babjak, who is retiring June 30 after serving as CEO since 2009.
My deep thanks to the Board, the CEO search committee and the consulting firm Korn Ferry for their diligence in conducting a detailed and comprehensive search with great attention to detail and confidentiality. The CEO hiring process was run exceptionally well, with great attention to detail and confidentiality:
- Appointed a CEO Search Committee who discussed and refined the hiring process
- Requested proposals and selected search firm
- Reviewed and interviewed candidates and recommended finalists to the Academy Board
- Board members interviewed the candidates and selected the finalist for the CEO position.
A resident of Palatine, Ill., Wylecia since 2018 has been the CEO of the Chicago-based American Health Information Management Association. She has more than 30 years of experience with a demonstrated ability to lead organizational and cultural change; develop effective teams; increase revenue streams; work with diverse stakeholders; and foster strong strategic partnerships. The Board has confidence that Wylecia is the ideal leader for the Academy and the entire nutrition and dietetics profession.
