How did you learn about the availability of Foundation scholarships and what motivated you to apply?
I learned about the Foundation Scholarship from a former recipient who shared their positive experience with me. Additionally, my program advisor, who has been instrumental in guiding my academic and professional journey, encouraged me to explore this opportunity. I was motivated to apply because I recognized that receiving this scholarship would offer significant financial support for pursuing my dissertation. Moreover, receiving this highly selective and prestigious scholarship represents a steppingstone to advance my career as a researcher in nutrition and health promotion.
Describe the financial impact that this scholarship will have on your educational journey this year.
As an international doctoral student in the preliminary stages of my dissertation, the Foundation’s support will enable me to focus on developing my research, access essential resources for implementing my proposal and dedicate more time to my studies.
What advice do you have for other students and professionals who are considering applying for Foundation funding?
Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. Talk to your mentor about it and take time to review the application requirements. There are different opportunities available and familiarizing yourself with the specific criteria can help you strengthen your application. Lastly, approach the application with confidence and maintain authenticity.
Scholarship and Award Application and Timeline Information
All applications and timelines for Foundation funding opportunities are made available electronically within the Foundation’s application portal. Generally, the scholarship applications are available from mid- February to mid-April, most award and grant applications are available from December to February, and fellowship opportunities are posted as they become available.
