While educators and preceptors are eligible for nearly all Foundation funding opportunities, the Foundation offers several scholarships, awards, and research grants of special interest to educators:
Scholarships
- Commission on Dietetic Registration Doctoral Scholarship – This scholarship supports students in doctoral programs.
- Commission on Dietetic Registration Advancing Practice Scholarship – This scholarship supports RDN preceptors returning to school to earn a Masters degree.
- NDEP Graduate Scholarship – This scholarship supports graduate students with an expressed career interest of serving as a preceptor.
- NDEP Preceptor Scholarship – This scholarship supports students currently employed in a role where they serve as a preceptor.
Awards
- Commission on Dietetic Registration Doctorate to RD Award - This award supports individuals with doctoral degrees seeking to become RDNs.
- E. Neige Todhunter Memorial Doctoral Award - This award is given to master prepared dietetics educators and practitioners to pursue doctoral studies.
- Lenora Moragne Memorial Award - This award provides financial support to a dietetics educator or preceptor enrolled in a doctoral study program for projects related to public policy and advocacy.
- Margene Wagstaff Award for Innovation in Dietetics Education - This award is given to recognize individuals who inspire entry-level dietetics professionals to pursue professional values.
- Marie and August LoPresti, Sr. Faculty Development Award - This award was provides continuing education funding for faculty of Ohio Universities and Colleges.
- NDEP Outstanding Preceptor Award – This nomination-based award, on behalf of the Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors group, recognize preceptors who are exemplary educators and mentors.
Research Grants
- Commission on Dietetic Registration Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Grant - This grant supports faculty members or program directors of ACEND-accredited educational programs who oversee ongoing research within their programs that relates to CDR’s Strategic Plan and engages nutrition and dietetics students who are completing their eligibility requirements to take the registration examination for dietitians.
