How did you learn about the availability of the Foundation scholarship that you received?
I first heard about the Foundation Scholarship from one of my nutrition professors. I later looked into ACEND myself and decided that I would love to be a part of it!
What motivated you to apply for a Foundation Scholarship?
I was motivated to apply for the Foundation Scholarship by my desire to continue studying nutrition at Purdue University. Without the scholarship, it was very possible that I would not be able to afford the out of state tuition for my program. Thanks to the Foundation, I am able to continue pursuing my passion and dream.
How will the scholarship funds help support your continued success within your educational program?
The scholarship funds will help support my continued success by affording me the resources to study nutrition at Purdue University. Without these funds, it is more than probable that I would not be able to continue on this path and would not be able to receive the best possible education in nutrition. The scholarship funds will allow me to focus solely on my education without having to worry about affording it.
What advice do you have for your colleagues about seeking out and applying for Foundation funding opportunities?
Always, always, always apply. Even if you don't think you "have what it takes" to win a scholarship, it is well worth the time to give it your best shot anyway. I was not sure if I would be selected to as a winner, but I am happy that I decided to apply anyway.
Scholarship and Award Application and Timeline Information
All applications and timelines for Foundation funding opportunities are made available electronically within the Foundation’s application portal. Generally, the scholarship applications are available from mid- February to mid-April, most award and grant applications are available from December to February, and fellowship opportunities are posted as they become available.
