March Means National Nutrition Month! For food and nutrition professionals and Academy members, March means the celebration of National Nutrition Month® ! This year's theme is " Beyond the Table ," which addresses the farm-to-fork aspect of nutrition, from food production and distribution to navigating grocery stores and farmers markets — and even home food safety and storage practices. Weekly messages of this year’s theme include staying nourished on any budget, seeing a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, eating a variety of foods from all food groups, and eating with the environment in mind. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (Foundation) is seeking two doctoral students who are RDN members of the Academy to serve as their 2024 Summer Evidence Analysis Center (EAC) fellows. The fellows will work closely with the Academy’s Research, International and Scientific Affairs (RISA) EAC team and content experts in the proposed research areas. The fellowships begin on or around May 15, 2024. This opportunity, available through funding from the Foundation’s Research Endowment, is a full-time, remote fellowship role for 12 weeks followed by necessary publication activities throughout fall 2024. Our Academy Foundation is the world's largest provider of dietetic scholarships at all levels of study including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and dietetic technician programs, as well as dietetic interns. Our Impact... In 2023, our Foundation provided just over $988,000 in scholarships, awards, and grants to 345 recipients, which included credentialed practitioners, students, and dietetic interns. I am incredibly proud that in just one year, we provided nearly $1 million in support to empower these current and future food and nutrition practitioners.
