Completing a Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, and Graduate Program at University of Tennessee
“Receiving this scholarship has been such an amazing opportunity in continuing with my education. Being a non-traditional grad student with children has been the most challenging, yet rewarding, season of life. With this scholarship, I am able to breathe easier while I continue on my journey. I am so grateful to have been selected!” |
How did you learn about the availability of Foundation scholarships and what motivated you to apply?
I was fortunate to receive the email alert about the application and really wanted to participate. I was motivated by my trust in the Academy and the amazing community within it and my goals as a student to continue. Additionally, I did also receive an alert of the application from one of my lecturers, which solidified the support within the community and encouraged me to apply. I am so thankful I did.
Describe the financial impact that this scholarship will have on your educational journey this year.
This scholarship really means so much to myself and my family. Without this opportunity, I would have continued to have to work even more during my unpaid clinical rotations, which really adds such a significant amount of stress and can make it very challenging to keep up with my studies. This also reduced the amount of loans that I will have to take out and the overall debt I will face after graduation.
What advice do you have for other students and professionals who are considering applying for Foundation funding?
