Time For Giving Thanks!
November is a time to connect with family and friends and to practice gratitude. I am looking forward to gathering with loved ones this month to share laughter, memories and joy. During this month of grateful reflection, I also want to thank our colleagues and fellow Academy members who work tirelessly for our profession and our Foundation. We share a passion for the future of our profession and know our Foundation is the catalyst for building a brighter future for all of us.
This month, as I think about the way our Foundation unites and supports the future of nutrition and dietetics practice, through scholarships, research grants, fellowships, and awards, I would like to ask what you see as the future of our profession and what we can accomplish together. How would you fill in the blank: “Together, as dietitians, we can ___.” In fact, if you would like to share it with us, please email your answer to Academyfoundationchair@eatright.org. I will go first.
Together, as dietitians, we can secure a bright future for the next generation of food and nutrition professionals.
Our Foundation helps shape the future or our profession in so many ways, and none more important than empowering the next generation of food and nutrition professionals through our scholarship program. Our Foundation is the world's largest provider of dietetic scholarships at all levels of study and our profession is coming together to contribute to our Make It a Million Scholarship Campaign in an effort to award $1M in scholarships each year beginning in 2025.
We are looking forward to sharing some of your responses about what you believe we can accomplish together throughout the month of November as we approach Giving Tuesday on December 3, a global movement that unleashes the power of generosity for causes that you are passionate about.
