With the combination of a silent auction, ticket sales, and generous donations, SNO raised $2,800 for the Kids Eat Right campaign. To end the night with a twist Emily Woolf, the SNO President, gathered the gala attendees for the grand finale. The ignition of sparklers symbolized a remembrance of our heartfelt evening in "Lightning the Path" to ending childhood obesity.
The Academy Foundation's Kids Eat Right public nutrition education program was launched to support projects and programs that address the national health concern of obesity among our children.
"This year's Gala was the first I was able to attend, and I was so impressed! I learned more about the Kids Eat Right (and the) Foundation and was reminded of some of the nutritional issues that affect children. It was an excellent opportunity to mingle with current and former students and colleagues and raise money for a worthy cause!" – Mayumi Petrisko, MS, RD, SDSU DPD Program Director
