Completing a Concurrent Graduate Program and Dietetic Internship at Boston University
“I love the field of nutrition and dietetics, but there’s no getting around the fact that pursuing your education can be an expensive endeavor. This is especially for students who are solely responsible for financing their education. With the generous support of organizations such as The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation, this endeavor is made easier!” |
How did you learn about the availability of the Foundation scholarship that you received?
Boston University does a great job when it comes to sharing opportunities with students—this happened to be one of them!
What motivated you to apply for a Foundation Scholarship?
I always view scholarships as an opportunity to reflect. As I go through the application questions, I’m inadvertently presented with an opportunity to think critically about my past experiences and how they shape the direction that I’m heading. This is what gives me the motivation to apply for such scholarships!
How will the scholarship funds help support your continued success within your educational program?
Like many, I’m responsible for financing my education. The generous support of my university and outside organizations such as The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation undoubtedly make that more manageable. Whenever I receive a scholarship, a bit of weight is lifted off my shoulders—and I’m so grateful every time!
What advice do you have for your colleagues about seeking out and applying for Foundation funding opportunities?
I would say to go for it! As the saying goes, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
