Looking Ahead to a Bright and Meaningful Year
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am honored and excited to begin my year as Chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation. The Foundation’s mission has always inspired me because it is rooted in people - students pursuing their dreams, practitioners advancing their work, researchers building evidence, volunteers giving their time, and donors choosing to invest in the future of our profession.
As we begin a new membership year, I would like to extend a warm welcome and sincere thanks to our 2026-2027 Academy Foundation Board of Directors. This talented group of leaders brings a wide range of experience, perspective, and commitment to the Foundation’s work, and I look forward to all we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
This is an especially meaningful year for the Foundation as we prepare to celebrate our 60th anniversary in October. For six decades, the Foundation has invested in students, practitioners, researchers, and leaders across nutrition and dietetics through scholarships, awards, research grants, fellowships, and public education initiatives.
As someone whose career has spanned patient care, community education, retail health, public health, and volunteer leadership, I know how powerful these investments can be in helping nutrition and dietetics professionals create meaningful change in the places where people live, learn, work, shop, and receive care. This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary impact made possible by our donors and volunteers and to look ahead with energy and optimism to the future we are building together.
We are also looking forward to connecting with many of you at FNCE® in October. The Foundation is planning several exciting opportunities to celebrate, engage, and give back during this milestone year, and I hope you will stay tuned for more details about our FNCE® activities in the coming weeks.
As I begin this role, I am deeply grateful for the strong foundation built by those who came before me and energized by the bright year ahead. Thank you for your continued support of the Academy Foundation and for all you do to strengthen our profession and improve the health of the public through food and nutrition.
Yours in health,
Eileen S. Myers, MPH, RDN, LDN, FAND
