Scholarship and Fellowship Applications Now Open!

Our Academy Foundation is the world's largest provider of dietetic scholarships at all levels of study including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and dietetic technician programs, as well as dietetic interns. Our application process for the 2024-2025 academic year is now open. I urge all students to apply. Our process is one universal application that will show our review committee all the possible scholarships you are eligible for. Individual scholarships range in value from $500 to $25,000 each and total amount and number of Foundation scholarships awarded each year is determined by fundraising efforts and investment returns on scholarship funds.

Just recently, our Foundation incorporated a new scoring criteria, Distance Traveled, a holistic category that encourages our reviewers to consider an applicant’s “full picture” – it is intended to reflect how an applicant’s background and life experiences have shaped and challenged them to grow as an individual to pursue an education in nutrition and dietetics. Points are awarded for life experiences that well-position the applicant to relate to and work with individuals of underserved or marginalized populations and for significant life experiences, challenges or other barriers that may have impacted the applicant’s ability to pursue an education.

Foundation scholarships are a true value for all Academy member students and dietetic interns and something we can all be proud of as a profession. The deadline to apply is 10 a.m. Central time on Tuesday, April 23.

Evidence Analysis Center Summer Research Fellowship Opportunities

The Foundation is seeking two doctoral students for remote summer research fellowships. Fellows will complete a mentored research experience with the Academy's Evidence Analysis Center, working closely with the Academy's Research, International and Scientific Affairs team to conduct systematic reviews.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has invested in developing and synthesizing evidence to support evidence-based practice since 2004. The Evidence Analysis Center (EAC) is a branch of the Academy’s Research, International, and Scientific Affairs (RISA) team, and its staff work with content advisors and expert advisory groups to conduct scoping and systematic reviews, evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, and consensus and position papers.

These full-time fellowship roles, available through a grant from the Foundation, are for 12 weeks (40 hours per week) beginning on or around May 15. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Central time on Monday, March 18. More information can be found here and check out our 2023 EAC fellow profiles here.
